Solid Waste & Recycling

The Borough of Carlisle is considering changes to its residential trash and recycling collection. We are considering bringing the service in-house and managing it with Borough staff, instead of hiring an outside company.

In 2025, a Solid Waste Municipalization Subcommittee, consisting of Borough Councilors, staff, and community members, was formed to evaluate a potential Borough-run program. Information on this evaluation, as well as future updates, can be found on our website at www.carlislepa.org/solid_waste.
